About Our Club
The Shallotte Junior Woman’s Club is a non-profit community service organization. In existence since 1973, the Club is comprised of women from the South Brunswick Islands area. Our common bond is simply a commitment to making our community a better place to live.
Our club is an affiliate organization of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the World’s largest and oldest nondenominational, nonpartisan, international volunteer service organization of women. In 2002, GFWC of North Carolina celebrated 100 years of volunteerism.
The main fund raiser for our club is the annual Shallotte Junior Woman’s Club Stand Up For Charity. Proceeds from our fund raisers are used to support scholarships for local high school students, fund an Arts Festival where cash prizes are given to school-aged children, to continue our work supporting the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw, as well as the many community service projects we complete throughout the year.
General Membership Meetings are held the first Monday of every month from September to May. If you are interested in becoming a member, please send an email to the club at shallottejwc@gmail.com.
